ZAMOGE Films is rooted in truth and focused on creating work that carries real weight in how stories are understood. Our current focus is on documentary filmmaking because it allows us to build from lived experience, community knowledge, and the relationships that shape our narratives. We approach documentary as a process that requires time, access, and accountability understanding that when people trust us with their stories, it is our responsibility to represent them with accuracy, respect, and intention. Documentary is the foundation of our film division because it keeps us connected to the realities of the work. Through research, observation, and collaboration, we build understanding of the environments we film in and the personal histories we are given permission to hold. This establishes a strong base of truth that informs every creative decision we make.

As ZAMOGE Films continues to grow, we will expand into narrative cinema not as a shift in direction but as an additional form of storytelling. Our scripted projects will be developed from real stories and documented realities, including biographical films, character-driven narratives, and hybrid works shaped by community input and cultural memory. This makes authenticity the guiding principle for both the nonfiction and narrative sides of the division. We are developing a pipeline where research, documentary material, and lived perspective become the foundation for larger cinematic works. This approach allows us to scale our stories without losing the truth that inspired them. It also gives us the ability to bring new audiences into contact with experiences they may not otherwise see or understand. ZAMOGE Films is committed to building work that contributes to how African and global Black life is represented globally not as a single experience, but as layered and expansive. Our films will reflect the everyday as much as the extraordinary. We prioritize strong visual language, cultural intelligence, and a filmmaking practice that respects the people and places that make each story possible. We are building a film division that operates with clarity and purpose producing documentary films now while developing the systems, partnerships, and creative infrastructure needed to support narrative productions in the future. Both forms will exist side by side, aligned in vision.
