Zamzam Elmoge, FOUNDER

Zamzam Elmoge is a Muslim Somali Bantu multidisciplinary storyteller and cultural organizer whose work moves across documentary, community healing, and creative media. Born in Kenya and later migrating to the United States with her family in 2006, she carries a deep connection to memory, migration, and belonging that informs both her art and her leadership.

A graduate of Emerson College with a Bachelor of Arts in Visual & Media Arts, she concentrated in Documentary and Social Impact, focusing on the ethics of media, representation, and community storytelling. Her work centers diasporic narratives and underrepresented voices across global platforms, merging creative practice with cultural responsibility.

Alongside her creative work, Zamzam has an extensive background in nonprofit leadership and community organizing, having led programs focused on resource access, youth engagement, and immigrant visibility in Maine. Her experience in these spaces has shaped her belief that storytelling is not only a form of art but also a tool for advocacy, healing, and social change.

Through ZAMOGE, her creative direction brings together film, media, and cultural production within a shared practice that values intention, experimentation, and collaboration. Grounded in African and global Black aesthetics, her work reflects a deep commitment to storytelling as both creative expression and cultural preservation.

Zamzam’s creative and community-based work has been recognized through honors such as the Catalyst for Change Award and the Woman of Achievement Award in Maine, along with features in regional and national press. She continues to expand her work globally, building projects and partnerships that merge film, culture, and design into a growing ecosystem of creative exchange and cross-cultural storytelling.
